Aroma Foods

From A Vegan Guide To Bristol 2004

When Peter Horvarth legged it from his homeland Hungary in 1980, desperate to escape the clutches of communism, he probably never envisaged becoming the UK's first producer of vegan cocktail snacks and goodies, but that is exactly what he has done.

A trained chef, he was busy in London during the 80's, and had it right off during the yuppie boom, so he moved to Bristol in the early 90's (as you do) and worked as a chef in Clifton. After serving up the BBC on numerous occasions, he started his own company last year, prompted by his wife Zsuzsa's move to a vegetarian diet.

Faced wth a dismal choice of veggie food, he decided to make his own. The result is a fantastic range of meat and dary free falafels, burgers and bhajias. Available throughout Bristol and direct from Peter himself, the quality and taste of these creations exposes a passion and comittment to lively and entertaining combinations of flavours and textures that will excite even the most limited of palates, and will no doubt encourage other companies to move in this direction.

Ultimately those who choose to follow the vegan lifestyle will have alot to thank Peter for, as he continues to open up the market for irresistible vegan food. And he's not even veggie.
