Five Best Snack Bars
Extraordinary creation from this firm. The Rebar boasts no less than 20 fruits and vegetables in its make-up, making it the proud provider of nearly the whole government recommended 5-a-day carry on in one easy fix. The favour is interesting, as you may expect when you read the list of ingredients, and there is no doubt that this bar delivers on a nutritional level every time.
Grow their own organic cereals and have a fantastic range of wheat and dairy free mueslis and breakfast cereals, including the rather jolly looking Barley Crisps in 3 different flavours. Excellent choice for nippers due to their high nutritional content and organic status. Not quite a snack bar but pretty much the same ingredients - and guaranteed completely organic cos they grow it themselves, on land that has been farmed for over 5,000 years.
Nature's Treats

Proper treat here from Mr. UK raw foodie maestro Christ Kennet. Really really lush creations from a master craftsman who is also a leading light behind various festivals in the UK promoting the benefits of living foods. A raw food diet is the natural progression from the vegan diet, and all of Nature's Treats are suitable for a raw food vegan organic diet. The best of them is the coconut one, that is just so far out there it's hard to take in all at once, and the fruitcake one is just too much too. The carob hemp pecan is a natural born winner, and we await with bated breath to see what the man will conjure up next.
Available in three flavours, all uncooked and therefore rich in omega 3's 6's and 9's, on account of the high hemp, sunflower and pumpkin seed content. Organic, raw, vegan, no added sugar and gluten-free, these are the only commercially available bars to hit the spot on all five levels. And they taste superb too. Available in all good independent shops, including Wild Oats, Health Unlimited, Earthbound, Harvest, Better Food Co and Fresh and Wild, as well as nationwide, these bars are also available on line and mail order via specialist outfits like the Fresh Network.
Not a snack bar at all, more a deluxe muesli, but in the same category none the less, and very appetising indeed. Represented at the 2004 Bristol Vegan Fayre and due back for the 2005 show (Oct 29th 2005) so you can come and see for yourselves. Highly recommended.
