La Ruca - Bishopston
Omnivore restaurant
Absolute winner, this gaff. Proper jewel in the heart of the Gloucester Road. Downstairs a deli, and upstairs a gorgeous little café with what can be truthfully described as ‘home cooking’. This is because the whole outfit is run by a charming and delightful Chilean family, who all seem to share the chores. Consequently the food is warm, rich and humourous, and there are loads of meat free options brimming with imagination and taste.

Andy Cronk 2007-04-10 22:09:43Great coffee and lovely staff. I like the way they are friendly and family-orientated. The deco needs uplifting, but some stunning Mexican and Indian art is displayed on the walls.
Strongly reccommended, if you ever want a slice of Latin-America!

In the cafe everyone will go out of their way to change things so that they are vegan. La Ruca catered for our wedding and made a wonderful range of vegan and vegetarian food, at a very reasonable price.
Highly recommended place!
